Gain the skills and knowledge to make a difference in a person?s life. Enroll in the Addictions and Community Services Worker program at CDI College. You?ll learn a range of skills to help those living with drug and alcohol issues, mental health problems and more. You?ll gain an understanding of key topics related to the addictions field, including psychology, pharmacology, communications, ethics and case management. In addition, you will develop a fundamental knowledge about addiction, intake procedures, treatment planning, relapse prevention and intervention. You will also learn about working with a range of clients, including families, high risk populations and youth. In order to graduate, you must complete the mandatory community placement.

Practical Nursing

Practical Nurses work in concert with fellow healthcare specialists in settings like acute care wards, private homes, public schools and long-term care facilities. CDI College?s Practical Nursing diploma program trains students to work in medical, surgical and rehabilitation care in a variety of positions. The program introduces students to the fundamental duties and responsibilities of a Practical Nurse. The curriculum follows standards laid out by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC). Students are trained in both holistic and clinical practices. Courses combine both classroom learning and lab work, as well as clinical placements. During this supervised hands-on training, students gain experience in facilities dealing with acute care, gerontology and community medical care. At the end of the supervised learning period, students participate in a preceptorship and job search training, to help transition them from student to graduate.

Paralegal

Paralegals are respected members of legal administration teams who are in demand for their understanding of complex legal practices and procedures. Mobile Game Design and Development

You love innovation, building amazing games and having fun along the way? Mobile game design and development is definitely one of the hottest emerging fields around. The latest mobile devices have changed the way we communicate and entertain ourselves creating a demand for mobile application designers, developers, artists and application testers. The Mobile Game Design and Development program will provide students with the technical skills needed to jump-start an exciting career in the fast-paced mobile development environment. Students will gain a strong knowledge of multiplatform mobile technologies and tools. From game design to scripting and coding and 3D animation, the program will cover the fundamentals you need to launch an exciting new career. They'll also be able to apply industry standard software and techniques to the creation of mobile applications. You want to turn your passion for playing video games into a successful career? The Game Development and Design program provides graduates with the solid technical and artistic foundations they'll need to become a part of this growing industry. In order to be successful in the game, animation and CGI industries, you'll learn the key of storytelling, game design, game play, modeling, and animation techniques. From color theory, design fundamentals to life drawing, students will be able to apply industry standard software tools and techniques to production processes. Career opportunities can be found in a variety of CGI-based industries, including computer animation studios, game development companies, post production and special effects studios. They may also work for industrial design firms and software producers, or for companies that require the production of 3D graphics and animation. Students with a combined interest in medical sciences and business will find career opportunities through CDI College?s Medical Office Administration diploma program. Students begin with classes in information processing, learning Microsoft Word and Excel programs, keyboarding, and information processing. Technical skills in medical terminology, human anatomy, and medical machine transcription are taught in later phases of the Medical Office Administrator program. All students must complete a mandatory practicum in order to graduate. This practicum allows students to apply their education in real-world scenarios. The program's objective is to equip childcare workers with the valuable knowledge and skills for employment.
